DT Croatia Named Croatia’s Best DMC for the Fourth Consecutive Year
The agency DT Croatia – Dubrovnik Travel DMC continues to confirm its position in the Croatian MICE market, winning the World Travel Award for Croatia’s Best DMC for the fourth consecutive year, following recognition in 2023, 2024 and 2025. With almost three decades of experience, the company has systematically developed its offering for international business clients, while an important part of its current activities is its involvement in the international MICE event The Meetings Space, which will take place in Dubrovnik from the 22nd to the 24th of October.
“Four consecutive awards are a sign that we are doing something right,” emphasises Daniel Marušić of Dubrovnik Travel, reflecting on the recognition that confirms the company’s long-standing presence in the business events and incentive travel industry.
Almost 30 Years of Experience in the International MICE Market
Dubrovnik Travel has been operating since 1998, and Marušić highlights business continuity and adaptability to change as important factors in long-term success. Over almost three decades, the company has navigated various market cycles and challenges, while simultaneously developing cooperation with partners and responding to the needs of international clients.
When working with clients from different parts of the world, from leading European markets to North and South America, South Africa and Australia, destination knowledge, reliability and the ability to respond promptly to organisers’ requirements play an important role. “Clients have their own budgets and timeframes, and it is up to us to be a stable, innovative and strong local partner for them,” explains Marušić.
Although Dubrovnik has traditionally been one of the company’s most important markets, Dubrovnik Travel also works on projects in other Croatian destinations, including Split, Šibenik, Hvar, Istria and Zagreb. The company sees Croatia as a destination that offers international clients the important advantage of safety, while the further development of the MICE offering also depends on service quality, the availability of qualified professionals and continuous investment in new ideas and experiences.
From Automotive Presentations to International Business Meetings
The 2026 MICE season for Dubrovnik Travel is, of course, still ongoing, and has been characterised by an extended period of activity and uncertainty associated with global and regional circumstances. According to Marušić, the year has so far been satisfactory, although without significant deviations from the average. A particularly notable feature has been the longer period of business activity, including increased demand during July, which is otherwise a quieter month for certain segments of the business events industry.
Among the projects, he highlights the presentation of the Opel Astra model in Šibenik at the beginning of the year, as well as an event at Amadria Park Šibenik with more than 1,000 participants. In Dubrovnik, organising larger groups during the autumn presented a challenge, while activities also continued through preparations for international business meetings.
Dubrovnik is particularly attractive to organisers because of its combination of hotel capacity, conference and event venues, appealing surroundings and opportunities to design programmes outside the main tourist season. The development of a year-round offering is precisely an area in which Dubrovnik Travel has recognised significant potential for many years.
The Meetings Space as an Opportunity to Showcase Dubrovnik and Croatia
One of the company’s important current projects is The Meetings Space (TMS), an international B2B event that connects specialised organisers of business events and incentive travel with suppliers and destinations. It will take place from the 22nd to the 24th of October in Dubrovnik, at the Sun Gardens Dubrovnik hotel.
Dubrovnik Travel is participating in the organisation of the programme in cooperation with the Dubrovnik Tourist Board and partners.
“Together with the Dubrovnik Tourist Board and our accommodation partner Sun Gardens Dubrovnik, we have prepared a very comprehensive programme that includes business meetings, excursions, activities, gala dinners, entertainment, as well as presentations of local gastronomy and wines, authentic souvenirs, workshops and attractive excursions with interactive elements,” said Marušić.
Dubrovnik Travel is participating in the project as the official DMC, providing support in various parts of the programme and coordinating activities.
“Thanks to our partners, participants will have the opportunity to discover the diversity of what Dubrovnik and the wider county have to offer. Throughout the programme, we will be at their disposal as the official DMC of the event, providing support in all its segments. This is an important international MICE promotional event, not only for Dubrovnik but also for Croatia.”
Such events represent an opportunity to connect directly with international buyers, showcase local experiences and develop new business contacts.
Investment in Safety, Sustainability and Service Quality
In the coming period, Dubrovnik Travel will continue working on improving business processes, technological solutions and system security. Areas of development include the application of software solutions and artificial intelligence, data protection and GDPR compliance, as well as employee training on increasingly demanding security standards.
The company also maintains and improves its system of sustainable and environmentally responsible business operations, including systems such as Biosphere, for which it has held certification since 2024, while working with partners to develop new programmes tailored to the different needs of clients.
Its long-standing experience is further supported by a multi-year AAA+ credit rating from Dun & Bradstreet and membership in the international association EUROMIC, of which Dubrovnik Travel is the only exclusive Croatian member.
For Marušić, despite technological changes and new trends, the foundations of successful DMC operations remain the same: professionalism, transparency, service quality and reliable relationships with partners. It is precisely on these principles that Dubrovnik Travel plans to continue building its presence in the international MICE market and contributing to the development of Dubrovnik as a year-round destination for business events.
