World Tourism Day has been celebrated across the globe for more than forty years on September 27. On this occasion, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board and the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra traditionally organize a concert for residents and visitors. This year, there is yet another excellent reason to celebrate: the great 100th anniversary of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, which will perform on World Tourism Day, September 27, with a brand-new program.
Under the open sky, in front of the Church of St. Blaise at 9 p.m., the orchestra conducted by Robert Homen will perform music from famous Disney animated films such as The Lion King, Pocahontas, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Moana, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Frozen, and other beloved Walt Disney cartoons.
The orchestra will be joined by the award-winning Croatian soprano and theater artist Danijela Pintarić and the outstanding, also award-winning tenor Josip Švagelj. The arrangements have been prepared by Damir Bunoza.
The concert is organized by the Dubrovnik Tourist Board and the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, with the support of the Lokrum Reserve.
In case of bad weather, the concert will be moved indoors, and the public will be informed in due time.
