Days of Šporki Makaruli for the Festivity of St. Blaise
A traditional gastronomic delicacy

From 31 January to 4 February 2026, on the occasion of the Festivity of St. Blaise, the patron saint of Dubrovnik, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board is organizing the culinary event Days of Šporki Makaruli for the Festivity of St. Blaise in as many as 19 restaurants across the city.

This authentic dish, which has become a symbol of Dubrovnik’s rich gastronomic heritage, is prepared according to traditional recipes that evoke the city’s glorious history and long-standing culinary traditions.

Šporki makaruli is a traditional Dubrovnik pasta dish made with thick, homemade macaroni and a slow-cooked meat sauce enriched with spices and wine. Despite its name, which literally means “dirty macaroni,” the dish is anything but messy. The name refers to the dark, deeply flavoured sauce that generously coats the pasta.
