The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra and soprano Marija Vidović will perform in one of the world’s most prestigious concert venues, the Musikverein in Vienna, on November 8. In the famous Golden Hall, led by Maestro Ivan Hut, they will present a unique program featuring the traditional Međimurje folksong, which is inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, as well as works by Johann Strauss the Younger and the Dubrovnik composer Luka Sorkočević.
This concert in one of the world’s most famous halls will be the best possible finale to the orchestra’s grand celebration of its 100th anniversary, as well as a meeting of the musical traditions of Croatia’s north and south. To present this program to the Dubrovnik audience, the Orchestra and the soloist will perform on November 6 at the Marin Držić Theatre with a nearly identical program.
